@Amr: I probably should have said "advertising" rather than "Adsense". Adsense doesn't pay so well compared to other advertising options.

@Marcus: This article was not intended to be 100% serious. I just find it interesting that so many of the bloggers I read (Steve Yegge, Cedric Beust, etc.) have jobs at Google and so many people who were famous programmers already (Josh Bloch, Guido van Rossum) have ended up at Google

@John Doe: I've read your comment 4 or 5 times and I'm really not sure what point you are trying to make. Perhaps I'm just slow (which may have been your point).

@miles: You're welcome :)

Dan, you're already famous but not for your brightness. You're still young.
Many people write great open source applications and yet they are not that famous.
I was looking at your Linkedin profile.
"I am committed to the development of quality software and a firm believer in using pragmatic, lightweight development practices to achieve this - emphasising automation over manual processes wherever possible."
I don't believe you :-), because your commitment will be influenced by your expertise and the salary you get from it

Working at google makes you famous sounds a bit weird.
I mean, Google has a lot of people and most of them are unfamous.
